Unit overview:
In this unit the children will read and enjoy the story ‘Biscuit Bear’ by Mini Grey, after a secret visit from the Biscuit Bear in their class (HOOK). They will make predictions at various points throughout the story. The children will then act out the circus scene from the book, posing for a freeze frame for a circus act. They will identify expanded noun phrases, coordination and subordination and past tense within the text. The children will then plan and draft a new story ending for ‘Biscuit Bear’, changing the setting and the hiding place for Biscuit Bear.
